Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam

This is part of the speech by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. I went for his speech at University of Malaya today. I was a great to know someone like him. I also meet Mr. Neelamehan. He is a very inspirational person in my life. Its a great feeling when you get to meet two great soul in a day.

Abdul Kalam
Of all the resources, the ignited mind of the youth is the most powerful resource on the earth, above the earth and under the earth.

“IGNITED MINDS: THE POWER OF THE YOUTH”.

2400 years ago Thiruvalluvar said,
"The important elements that constitute a nation are: being disease free; high earning capacity; high productivity; harmonious living and strong defence".

Righteousness

If there is righteousness in the heart,
There will be beauty in character;

If there is beauty in character,
There will be harmony in the home;

If there is harmony in the home,
There will be order in the nation;

When there is order in the nation,
There will be peace in the world.”

He then said that there are three sources that can build a youth with righteousness in the heart. One is mother, second is father and the third and the most important is the teacher, particularly primary school teacher. To provide righteousness in the heart to the young minds, we should have an environment of great education and a spiritual way of life and spiritual environment.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi

He later insisted that “small aim is a crime”. He also told about the advice given to Mahatma Gandhiji by his mother. She says,

"Son, in your entire life time, if you can save or better someone's life, your birth as a human being and your life is a success. You have the blessing of the Almighty God".

This advice has made a deep impact in the mind of Gandhiji, which made him to work for the humanity throughout his life.

Remove “I” and “Me”
In the present world, we have a problem of distrust, unhappiness transforming into violence. This monastery spreads: when you remove “I” and “Me” from your mind, you will eliminate ego; if you get rid of ego, hatred towards fellow human beings will vanish; if the hatred goes out of our mind, the violence in thinking and action will disappear; if violence in our mind is taken away, peace springs in human minds. Then peace and peace and peace alone will blossom in the society".

Together we will Win
At a Special Olympics, nine contestants, all physically or mentally disabled, assembled at the starting line for the 100 mtr race. At the starting signal, they all started out, not exactly in a dash, but with a relish to run the race to the finish and win. All, others except one little boy who stumbled on the asphalt, tumbled over a couple of times, and began to cry. The other eight heard the boy cry. They slowed down and looked back. Then they all turned around and went back......every one of them. One girl with Down's syndrome bent down and kissed him and said, "This will make it better" Then all nine linked their arms together and walked together and finally reached the destination.

GLOBE

What matters in this life is more than winning for ourselves. What matters in this life is helping others win, even if it means slowing down and changing our course.

My favourite qoute from his speech was

A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle

"A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle"

Anwar sworn in as MP

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was sworn in as Permatang Pauh MP at 10.05am. Anwar, who turned up for the event in a simple black baju melayu, was accompanied by his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and their daughter Nurul Izzah.
The moment he entered the Dewan, he was instantly surrounded by other Pakatan Rakyat members, including Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang and PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.
Anwar Ibrahim swears in at Parliament house in Kuala Lumpur Thursday.

However, only three ministers were present in the House for the swearing-in. The swearing-in took place in front of Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia. After the swearing-in, Anwar took his place on the first seat on the Opposition block.

Pndikar Amin said he had received and approved an application by the Pakatan Rakyat MPs appointing Anwar as the Opposition Leader. Sepanggar MP Datuk Eric Enchin Majimbun, who is from Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) took the opportunity to congratulate Anwar on his win as he stood up to field the first query in the question and answer session.
Minister in Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz also congratulated Anwar on behalf of the Government when he stood up to reply the first question.

He later said that the live telecast of Parliament proceedings is only meant to show the question time and not other matters, which is why Anwar's swearing-in was not aired. Nazri said the opposition should not be over-sensitive about the matter.

Britain's Got Talent

This two clips on the Britain's Got Talent show. To tell the truth i guess few of them are really talented but they never won and the once who won was to me not as great as the once who lost...hahaha. This was the two performance which i felt it was really superb. Both of them made it for the finals in 2007 and 2008 respectively but didn't get 1st place.

Signature - 2008 Final

Damon Scott ft. Bubbles - 2007 Final

The best part is both this video using Michael Jackson's song

It looks like Malaysia is a better team than AC Milan

Last week Malaysia lost to Chelsea 2-0 (29.08.2008).
Yesterday, AC - Milan lost to Chelsea 5-0 in the pre-season Railway Cup tournament (03.08.2008).

Does this mean that Malaysia is better than the 2006/2007 European Champions ?

Indonesian vs Hindi

This is an interesting song in both languages. Apparently the original version is by the Indonesian Band (Peter Pan) and Pritam the famous music plagiarizer made a copy.

Tak Bisakah - Peterpan

Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai - Woh Lamhe
